Geezeo is an application that helps members develop and maintain their budget, while also working with other members to stick to and improve their financial situation. Members share tips, struggles and suggestions regarding their financial goals with each other. Geezeo comes bundled with features such as financial account tracking, bank transactions categorization, budgeting, assigning tags, use of charts and graphs, mobile access, setting up goals, ability to join groups and learn from others. Geezeo helps its users get smart and social with their money matters.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Geezeo was launched in January 2007 as an application to help its users manage their financial life. A large number of users benefit from the services provided and it caters mainly to the young college community of the society. 18-to-34 age group is the target audience for it. With the kind of services on offer it is fast becoming the preferred choice of many. Geezeo closed it's doors for new personal registrations in 2009. It now offers its services through banks and credit unions.

Geezeo has quite an interesting look with a combination of white, blue, black and pink background. On the home page is the cartoon of a fat piggy bank waiting to explode which perhaps shows the mental status of people who have to go through the pain of managing their finances. But a look at all the features provided is sure to comfort the users. However, the site looks a bit overcrowded with all the text and symbols. Further, the interface is very colorful and attractive with all the rich colored charts and graphs.

How does the registration process work?

To get started, one has to set up an account with Geezeo. Alternatively a valid Gmail username and password can be used. at the time of registration it asks for a lot of information like login id, first name, last name, email and nickname. Then it asks a Challenge question. Finally one is headed to his/ her own home Page. For adding different bank accounts to the profile one needs to provide all personal bank credentials. Upon adding the user's accounts it enables them to view the recent status of their accounts. To access one's account status on the mobile phone, the phone needs to be registered first, which can be done by sending out a simple message to Geezeo.

Geezeo is a web based application to track and mange one's money. The site presently offers all its services to users absolutely free. However, as new features will be added this format may be done away with in future. They are also working on several partnerships which are currently in the development stage. Their revenue model is contextual product advertisements.

Geezeo is a great help to those who have multiple accounts in banks or credit unions. It is primarily targeted at the youth to help them make better financial decisions while enabling them to enjoy the process at the same time. Therefore, it is recommended to the younger lot who have their own bank accounts, debit and credit cards, loans, numerous daily expenses, debt and credit but find themselves in a mess when they have to manage all the money stuff.
